Disabled Disenfranchised in New York

A federal judge recently ruled that the city was violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by through the “pervasive and persistent access barriers” at poll sites. These barriers varied from lack of ramps to improper voting equipment to lack of signage.  It is far too easy for the disabled to be inadvertently disenfranchised by lack of access, therefore extra care should be taken to ensure that they have all the facilities necessary to allow them to vote.
